Johnson Space Center has approximately 15,000 civil servants and contractors (3,000 Civil Servant and 12,000 Contractors). The Johnson Space Center consists of 100 buildings constructed on 1,620 acres. Of the 3,000 Civil Servant employees, approximately 110 are astronauts. Principal training site for both Space Shuttle crews and International Space Station Expedition crews.
